Jersey Lifeguards Rockucate The Masses @ Bubby’s Lounge

What’s coming up this week (starting tomorrow!):

* The South Jersey Seashore Lifeguard Convention Band

Lifeguard ..1 and his partner in lifesaving crime (Jackhammer Johnson) from the South Jersey Seashore are beaching upon the rocky banks of DUMBO to help save lives, rockucating the populous acoustically all evening long. Come by for free resuscitation lessons between indie-rock songs. They just played a show at The Knitting factory, not too long ago, are working their way back into their wet suits for tomorrow’s gig, as we speak. They’ve got CDs for sale, and endless metaphors about the sand, drowning children, and the emotional drama that is part of the everyday lives of lifeguards. Bring you sand shovels. Your flippers.

We dream of un-confiscated forties, shit-cheap liquor off a plywood bar, smoking inside, bands in the backyard, in the basement, in the bathtub. Out of necessity, we do shows at venues that are pretty lenient by New York standards, but in a perfect world every show would happen at home (in this city of eternal roommates). To get to the nitty-gritty, if you have a space, and think music forcefully shoved inside might work for us both, drop us an email. We can use all shapes and sizes, from pretty little alleyways or back porches for an acoustic kind of good time, or an industrial-looking basement for around 100 kids to spazz the fuck out in…
