Barkitecture

Todd P.’s getting more action than ever these days, but that doesn’t mean he’s not kicking us down a slice! The Rats of NiMH are all up in Don Pedro’s come the end of May, with two sick bands from out of state (Virginia/Michigan), and Animandible, from right here in dirrrty Brooklyn, back in action!

[ ANIMANDIBLE ]
“ANIMANDIBLE are about a year old risen from the remains of famed Brooklyn cowbellcore combo UKUK. Gypsy makes beats and shouts and writhes, Ronno decorates with choice cuts of melodic riffage and juicey keybass and also yells in the background. It’s exciting, but can you dance to it? Yes, you can.” - Them/MySpace

[ BARKITECTURE ]
“To push music past the borders and boundaries as we know is one of Barkismo’s biggest goals and also happens to be the goal of the newly formed 703 NOISE COLLECTIVE. They’ve recently released a compilation of artists all around the said area codes region, and we’re fucking impressed. Bark got a slot on the record! Our debut e.p. “Undercover Skullz” is still available through us, or through J STREET RECORDS. We also have big summer plans, the e.p. to be released on vinyl, a summer tour, and a new full length to be recorded at the legendary inner ear studios. - Them/MySpace

[ GRASS CANYON ]
“Grass Canyon is a shapeshifting form of American attitude between Detroit, MI and Amherst, MA. The songs are catchy, dreamy, heavy, serious, quaint, wet, high, fuzzy, messy, crunchy, proggy, poppy, oriental, satirical, wavey, psychedelic, poopy, noisy, sexy, straightforward, comical, frustrating, elegant and melting. Especially melting.” - Them/MySpace

We dream of un-confiscated forties, shit-cheap liquor off a plywood bar, smoking inside, bands in the backyard, in the basement, in the bathtub. Out of necessity, we do shows at venues that are pretty lenient by New York standards, but in a perfect world every show would happen at home (in this city of eternal roommates). To get to the nitty-gritty, if you have a space, and think music forcefully shoved inside might work for us both, drop us an email. We can use all shapes and sizes, from pretty little alleyways or back porches for an acoustic kind of good time, or an industrial-looking basement for around 100 kids to spazz the fuck out in…
