The So So Glos / The Ackleys / Tyger Beat @ Parking Lot Along East River!

Beach Party

Woke up, it was really hot. Went to work, it was really hot. Went to a show, it was really hot. It’s really fucking hot, guys.

So whaddya say we all hit the beach before the fireworks next week? The Rats Of NiMH have a FREE afternoon show going down along The East River up in good ‘ol Long Island City. There’s a bar, burgers ‘n grub, and an entire fake beach, filled with real sand. The bands are gonna be blasting from a flatbed truck, dead middle of one of the many industrial parking lots scattered throughout the area.

And, as the sun goes down, you’ll be in one of the best spots in the entire goddamn city to watch the fireworks.

We dream of un-confiscated forties, shit-cheap liquor off a plywood bar, smoking inside, bands in the backyard, in the basement, in the bathtub. Out of necessity, we do shows at venues that are pretty lenient by New York standards, but in a perfect world every show would happen at home (in this city of eternal roommates). To get to the nitty-gritty, if you have a space, and think music forcefully shoved inside might work for us both, drop us an email. We can use all shapes and sizes, from pretty little alleyways or back porches for an acoustic kind of good time, or an industrial-looking basement for around 100 kids to spazz the fuck out in…
