This is a really full weekend, so lemme see if I can get you excited as I am…

Tomorrow I’m using the Castle In Hell (down the street from The Market Hotel) for the first time. It’s the first show my friend Kristen has set up, and is a totally packed bill. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen Michael Jordan destroy themselves (and the audience) for our viewing pleasure.

- AND THEN -

If you haven’t had a chance to check out Chief Mag’s (http://chiefmag.com/) new space in Bushwick (right next to Goodbye Blue Monday), now’s your chance. Same goes for Titus Andronicus. Catch both before they’re too hot to touch anymore….

- AND ALSO -

This weekend is the “Full Color Distro,” Showpaper’s first art show’s, LAST WEEKEND. Everybody at Showpaper worked super super hard on this show, and we’re really excited about all the beautiful art we have available, so come by, take a look online, and consider supporting us (and the artists!) by purchasing something or passing it along to someone who might be interested. Thanks!

—-[ BAND INFO ]—–

[ TITUS ANDRONICUS ]
“They hit every mark, nailing noise and debris against shake-and-sing anthems. That’s Titus Andronicus’ ploy– aggressing and endearing audiences as a completely ramshackle crew of Jersey drunks, while somehow triumphing through perfectly clangorous pop songs. If this band can convince itself not to fall apart at the well-lubed, beer-soaked seams, watch out. ” - Pitchforkmedia.com

[ ANAMANAGUCHI ]
“Using real instruments along with a NES Anamanaguchi uses 8-bit sound along with powerness and awesomeness that make them an amazing powerful band. It is a harmonious combination of both digital and analog instruments. Truly is a fantastic heart-felt journey that one can find meaning to. With no words just pure rockage, the songs paint beautiful scenes of color and life.” - http://hmmburger.com/

[ RUNTIME ERROR ]
“Julian (Fiasco/Orphans/Crimer/Graffiti Monsters) and Lucian (Fiasco) know each other very well. They are friends of Jack Wolf (The Crayons/Jet Lag) and knows that he likes early Black Dice. They also are friends with Louis (Graffiti Monsters), who makes electronic circuit-bending instruments that sound amazing and plays gameboy, so they get Jack and Louis. Now the band is officially happening and has played Louis’ girlfriend Susannah’s birthday party, STFO twice, Claire Ardito’s show in Tribecca, Death By Audio, That really good show in Bed-Stuy and the Knitting Factory tap bar. hoooray. Their debut full length is probably going to be called Funcrime Terror” - ’space

We dream of un-confiscated forties, shit-cheap liquor off a plywood bar, smoking inside, bands in the backyard, in the basement, in the bathtub. Out of necessity, we do shows at venues that are pretty lenient by New York standards, but in a perfect world every show would happen at home (in this city of eternal roommates). To get to the nitty-gritty, if you have a space, and think music forcefully shoved inside might work for us both, drop us an email. We can use all shapes and sizes, from pretty little alleyways or back porches for an acoustic kind of good time, or an industrial-looking basement for around 100 kids to spazz the fuck out in…
