Happy 2010! If you had anywhere near as good a time as I did on NYE, then I think it’s gonna be a great year for all of us…
Lots of shows in January. Sunday is some chill-out vibes in the basement to bring you out of that hangover fog that hangs heavy over the city right now, and Monday is a FREE record release show for ACLU Benefit, with an accompanying potluck, so you can break bread with all the friends you did horrible things to while drunk on Thursday night!

[ Many Mansions ]
Jamaica plain, massachusetts based Many Mansions is the ongoing recording and performance project of Shane M. Donnelly. The project has many different faces and has evolved greatly since its inception as a lo-fi noise tape recorded on four-track cassette. Most recently, performances have been dance oriented, blending the repetitiveness of trance, the feel-good vibrations of tropicalia and the mind-beinding aspects of psychedelia. Many Mansions is touring in support of a split 12 inch with truman peyote released on the whitehaus family record.
[ Truman Peyote ]
“You may remember the Jamaica Plain, Mass., group Truman Peyote from their Animal Collective-y track “New Wife, New Life” that we shared with you this summer. Now the group is back with a new split 12″, titled Peaced Together, out next month on the Whitehaus Family label. Their hometown neighbors Many Mansions have the flip side, but for this track, “Sidewalk Sludging (Airbud)”, Truman Peyote drop the group chorus in favor of a torrent of aqueous samples, dubby bass lines, and some heavily warped vocals.” – pitchfork
[ Blissed Out ]
