[ Anti-CMJ ]
My first day working for Todd P., and by far the most ridiculous setups I've ever been a part of for the show. Friday was a big night for Todd P.'s Anti-CMJ festival, with multiple shows happening all over Bushwick, and Industrial Greenpoint, with the biggest one being headlined by The Slits. Things started out at Starr Street, where two stages were set up, and everything went fine for the first four or so bands. Then, at about midnight, the cops shut the whole thing down. I thought "Damn, that blows..." and then Todd P. whipped out something crazy. WHILE the cops were raiding the place (at least 20 or so, a ridiculous number of police...), we started moving out equipment, and moved THE ENTIRE SHOW five blocks down to where another Todd P. show was already in progress. They tacked on The Slits, and a handful of other groups down for the move, and the show continued, packed to the gills. Crazy.
